Our Lady of Sorrows School is a member of the Central Westchester Region of the Archdiocese of New York Schools whose purpose is to ensure its schools are Christ-centered, academically excellent and welcoming. Thus, OLS does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin or gender in acceptance of students.
Due to limited class size, children of the Catholic faith are given first priority. Extra spaces would be made available to non-Catholic students.
Should there be more applicants than can be accommodated, the following criteria would be used in accepting students:
- Any child who is a sibling of a student currently in the school, a sibling of a graduate or a child of a graduate of OLS.
- Registered Catholics who are supportive of and active in their parish.
- Social and emotional readiness of child
- Results of Spring Readiness Testing for Kindergarten, and for 1st grade successful completion of Kindergarten, where applicable
Applicants for any other grade level will be accepted based on classroom space and an evaluation of the applicant’s academic performance.
